What is FST?
FST is a type of stretching that targets muscles and the connective tissue (called fascia) that surround the muscles, bones and joints. FST helps if you have movement limitations or restrictions, think of it as lubrication of the joints. You Therapist will move through various ranges of motion and planes that will bring you into stretch positions that you’d be unable access yourself. Standard stretching done by athletes post workout can be ineffective and cause additional tightness – these stretches are often rushed and not done on correct muscle groups. With FST your therapist will assess your mobility and range of motion prior to the session and with that knowledge can spend time on the appropriate areas. After your stretch you will feel loose, your posture will be improved and your range of motion will have increased.
Who should get FST?
- People who sit at a desk all day
- Runner
- Cyclists
- If you have bad posture
- If you workout regularly
